Kuwait Finance House – Bahrain, one of the leading Islamic banks in the Kingdom, announced its initiative to support and sponsor the reopening of the Iqra e-reading center, a center specialized in teaching the recitation of the Holy Quran and the provisions of Tajweed through the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Waqf.
This support reflects KFH-Bahrain’s commitment towards corporate social responsibility and the sponsorship of national initiatives and efforts that benefit the society in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The center is scheduled to reopen in the beginning of February 2023, where it will continue to organize and host e-educational programs related to recitation, Tajweed and memorization of the Holy Quran.
“We commend and applaud KFH-Bahrain’s sponsorship of the e-reading center, as this support is aimed at reopening the center and continuing to educate the community on Quranic sciences, as well as developing the skills of reading the Holy Quran on a larger scale in the Kingdom. We would also like to congratulate KFH-Bahrain for their efforts in the implementation of this important step, as we hope that the process of giving will continue through the dissemination of Quranic culture and the graduation of new groups of readers and specialists in this field,” commented Judge Issa Sami Al Mannai, Undersecretary for Justice and Islamic Affairs at the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Waqf.
Commenting on the sponsorship, Mr. Abdulhakeem Alkhayyat, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of KFH–Bahrain said: “We are proud to be constantly supporting the Ministry’s initiatives, including the reopening of the e-reading center, which represents one of the most important tributaries for teaching the Holy Quran electronically in the Kingdom. This sponsorship comes as part of our continuous efforts to advance the local community and contribute to the dissemination of valuable Quranic sciences. We look forward to witnessing more people benefit from the educational programs hosted by the center throughout the year.”
The Iqra Center was established in 2015, and the role of the center is manifested in providing electronic Quran education programs for individuals who are unable to enroll in the traditional educational centers scattered throughout the Kingdom and affiliated with Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Waqf. The center receives student calls from Sunday to Wednesday, during the morning and evening periods. The center also provides a certificate of recitation of the holy Quran, which is approved by the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Waqf.
