Kuwait Finance House–Bahrain (KFH–Bahrain) sponsored a two-day Heart Disease Awareness campaign organized by the Arabian Gulf University at The Avenues Bahrain. This initiative falls under the Bank’s corporate social responsibility initiatives, coinciding with the Heart Disease Awareness month.
The campaign included free medical examinations such as blood pressure measurement and random blood glucose levels, which was conducted by sixth-year medical students, under the supervision of practicing physicians. Visitors of the mall were also educated on important factors that increase the risk of heart disease, as they also received coupons and in-kind prizes.
Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Mohammed Fahmi Hamad, Executive Manager of Operations, IT and Corporate Communications at the Bank said: “We are pleased to sponsor the Arab Gulf University’s awareness campaign, as this will contribute to raise awareness amongst the community on the risk factors of common heart diseases. Under the umbrella of the Bank’s corporate social responsibility, we support community initiatives that contribute to enhancing the level of health and well-being of all individuals.”
The objectives of the campaign also included collecting data for further studies in the field, with the participation of certified cardiologists from the Bahrain Defence Force hospital (BDF) and Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC).
