Following on from a successful calendar of social events in 2011, Kuwait Finance House - Bahrain (KFH-Bahrain) announced its newly elected Social Committee for 2012 at its first staff gathering, held recently at the Gulf Hotel Pool Side. Mr Khalid Al Hassan (Chairman of the Social Committee), commented "The Social Committee has served a supportive role in bringing the KFH-Bahrain family together." He added, "The work of the committee is an ongoing initiative to give staff members a strong sense of connection with the Bank." At the event, the committee arranged a fun-filled programme with various activities for the staff followed by a lavish dinner. KFH-Bahrain's Social Committee has, in the past, organised several fun gatherings, some of the more memorable among these were the KFH Desert Camp held in January at which staff and their families were treated to a full day of special entertainment, activities, fun and games for all the different age groups present. Other initiatives that garnered active participation included several Football Tournaments, the Biggest Loser Competition, the annual summer camp for the staff's children and get-togethers over Ramadan, Iftaar and Gabga and the annual Eid Dinner. "It's not all fun and games," Mr Khalid Al Hassan declared, "We also had a Health & Fitness Week and a Healthy Meal cooking competition which were very well received." Other plans on the agenda for 2012 include a KFH Book Club, Talent/Hobby teams - to build teams of employees with similar talents and a KFH Fitness Challenge. "These all help towards reinforcing our corporate culture, renewing enthusiasm for each other and our work while helping to keep us creative," said Mr Khalid Al Hassan. With such a full calendar ahead the KFH Social Committee will have its hands full for the coming year and staff can look forward to ongoing activities and functions - both old favourites and new.
