Kuwait Finance House - Bahrain (KFH-Bahrain) signed a strategic agreement with Tamkeen to provide finance for small and medium enterprises (SMEs). According to the agreement, companies in Bahrain will be able to get accessible low-cost Islamic financing solutions from KFH-Bahrain, with 50% subsidy from Tamkeen as part of its efforts to enable these companies to obtain the funds they need to develop their businesses. Tamkeen's Chief Executive Mr. Mahmood Hashem Al-Kooheji commented on the agreement and said: "The funding that will be provided by this programme will provide accessible financing options for entrepreneurs seeking to grow their business. The Enterprise Financing Programme has played a central role in institutionalising the concept of SME lending in Bahrain, while at the same time expanding the customer base of our partner banks in this programme, which ultimately contributes to advancing the national economy." The KFH-Bahrain SMEs' financing product offers very attractive profit rates with 50% profit subsidy by Tamkeen. This initiative is part of the Bank's aim to deliver to SMEs the same level of service and financing strength that its largest clients receive. To date, more than 4,000 Small and Medium-sized Enterprises have benefitted from Tamkeen Finance Schemes, with a total funding of BD 130 million out of a total of BD 189.5 million which are available through various partner banks.
